Step 1

Okay before we start this first step, I should tell you that this can be difficult for some of you trying to learn. You’ll start by drawing out the head shape and adding guides on the face. Next, add the shape of his chin and make an indent for his mouth. Then you will create the guide shape of your torso as well as the circles at the shoulders. Now the body shape will resemble a rib cage. The next thing to do is add the remaining chi instructions as well as the line for his Buster Sword.

Step 2

As you can see, you will start out sketching his hairstyle as well as the shapes of his right and left arms, hands and waist. Then you will make the Buster Sword look bigger and bolder as shown. Then start outlining his legs or pants as well as his collar. Looking at his face, you will see that you will also begin to sketch his features.

Step 3

Now that you have completed step one and step two, you will now move on to the next two steps. But first start this third step by sketching the rest of Clouds’ spike-like hair shape as well as his nose and lips or mouth. Next detail and define his collar and then outline in more detail for both the arms and hands. You’ll need to draw a line for the cape like the one he’s wearing that is swaying to the bottom right.

Step 4

Details and definition are key. That’s what you’ll start doing in this step. The first thing you will do is start sketching the detailed lines on the blade of the Buster Sword and the base. Next, start sketching the definition in his hair as well as the inside detail of his ears. Start drawing his vest or jacket by adding the sword string that goes over his chest and then the shoulders of the outfit. There is a red ribbon that Cloud wears on his left arm, let’s outline it. SO what do you think so far? I know it’s a bit complicated, but you’re doing well so move on. You’ll finish this step by drawing the starting detail on his trousers and the hem of his long coat on the bottom right hand side.

Step 5

Yay! Yours is almost done. Are you happy or not? Take the time to look at Cloud’s face in detail to make sure he retains his handsome qualities. You will then add strokes to his spiky hair and then his blade. Next is the detail of the sword’s handle, then his arms and hands. Finish drawing the rest of the lines on the strap and buckle and start lining the logo he wears on his left shoulder. You will finish this step by detailing the pants and the bottom of the jacket.

Step 6

This is the final drawing step and what you will spend your time doing is detailing his outfit as well as the metal cauldron or wolf head on his left shoulder. After you have sketched all the detailed outlines, you will begin to erase all the guides and shapes that you drew in step one.

Step 7
